Dan Waldman

Mr. Daniel Waldman was raised in Los Angeles and attended the University of Colorado, Boulder and the University of California, Santa Cruz. After a number of construction, contracting and landscaping-related jobs, he moved into business-to-business publishing. He worked with Brentwood Publishing, Simon + Schuster, Macmillan Professional Journals and Springhouse/Elsevier before founding Forester Media, Inc. in 1990 with the launch of MSW Management, The Journal for Municipal Solid Waste Professionals.

Over the next several years, Mr. Waldman launched Erosion Control, The Journal for Erosion & Sediment Control Professionals; Grading & Excavation Contractor; Stormwater, The Journal for Surface Water Quality Professionals; Remediation Management, The Journal for Environmental Restoration Professionals; Water Efficiency, The Journal for Water Resource Management; and Distributed Energy, The Journal of Energy Efficiency & Reliability. He also launched ForesterPress, the book publishing division, “ForesterUniversity”, the online training & webinar division, and StormCon, The North American Surface Water Quality Conference & Exposition.

Mr. Waldman has worked with all aspects of our industry for close to thirty (30) years, collaborating with readers (many certified by EnviroCert), authors, nearly every professional organization and association in the field, and industry vendors. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Waterkeeper Alliance, was elected to two consecutive terms as a member of the Board of Directors of the International Erosion Control Association and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Santa Barbara ChannelKeeper.

Mr. Waldman is married and the father of two grown children and lives in Santa Barbara, California.
